Fish Artwork Contest

The 2026 SWF Fish Artwork Contest is Here!

The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation is excited to welcome young artists from across the province to take part in our annual Fish Artwork Contest!

Each April, students in Grades 4–6 are invited to showcase their creativity by drawing a native Saskatchewan fish in its natural habitat. This contest is a fun and educational way to connect youth with Saskatchewan’s fisheries and the importance of conservation.

🎨 Contest Details

Dates: April 1 – April 30, 2026
Eligibility: Open to Saskatchewan students in Grades 4–6

Students are encouraged to submit original artwork that highlights one of Saskatchewan’s native fish species, including:

  • Walleye
  • Yellow Perch
  • Lake Trout
  • Northern Pike
  • Lake Sturgeon
  • Arctic Grayling

✏️ Artwork Requirements

  • Must be original work (no tracing)
  • Can be colour or black & white
  • Mediums may include drawing, painting, or pastels
  • Must be completed on 8.5 × 11 paper

🏆 Prizes

✨ New for 2026:
We will be awarding three prize packs — one 1st place winner in Grade 4, Grade 5, and Grade 6!

Winning artwork will also be featured on:

  • SWF social media
  • Outdoor Canada West Magazine

Include: Student name, grade, teacher and school

We were blown away by the creativity and talent shown by all the young artists across the province!

A huge thank you to the 562 talented young artists from across Saskatchewan who submitted their incredible creations! Your passion for fish in Saskatchewan truly inspired us.
