Experience the Outdoors Like Never Before
The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation’s Youth Conservation Camp is back for Summer 2026!
Held at the Hannin Creek Education & Applied Research Centre at Candle Lake, this week-long overnight camp gives youth the opportunity to learn, explore, and build confidence in the outdoors.
For over 30 years, this program has helped young people develop hands-on skills, leadership, and a lifelong appreciation for conservation and Saskatchewan’s natural landscapes
🌲 What to Expect
Campers (ages 12–14) spend the week immersed in outdoor learning, participating in activities such as:
- Archery
- Canoeing
- Fishing & fisheries studies
- Wildlife and plant identification
- Survival skills & fire building
- Camp cooking
- Map & compass navigation
- Trapping and outdoor ethics
📅 2026 Camp Dates
- Girls Camp: August 4–8, 2026
- Boys Camp: August 11–15, 2026
📍 Location: Hannin Creek Education & Applied Research Centre, Candle Lake, SK
Please note that campers must be sponsored by an SWF branch.
💡 Why Sponsorship?
The SWF’s branch sponsorship model ensures:
- Youth from across Saskatchewan have access to camp
- Local branches stay connected to youth in their communities
- Participants represent their branch and community at camp
📝 How to Apply
- Have the youth interested in attending camp fill out the registration form.
- Send this registration form to your LOCAL WILDLIFE BRANCH. The local wildlife branch will determine if they will sponsor the youth to attend camp.
- If the local branch agrees to sponsor the youth, the local branch will submit the registration form, letter of reference, and cheque to the SWF Central Office.
2026 Youth Conservation Camp Applications are now open! Click here to download the application for the youth to complete. Please note, no typed applications will be accepted – the youth must hand write all responses on the form. Once the forms is complete, send it off to your local SWF branch for sponsorship consideration.
