The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation Has an Environmentally Friendly Alternative to The Gun Amnesty Objectives

March 27, 2018 by Chelsea Walters

The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation wants to remind people across Saskatchewan of our Guns For Habitat Program, an opportunity to turn unwanted firearms into wildlife habitat for wildlife across the province.

For 20 years, SWF’s Guns for Habitat has given individuals the opportunity to donate unwanted firearms for a good cause. Firearms in good working condition will be sold through fundraising events, the proceeds of which will support SWF’s Habitat Trust program, that acquires and enhances habitat for wildlife. A tax-deductible receipt is issued to the donor upon sale of the firearm. If the firearm cannot be sold, and the donor agrees, it will be deactivated for use in firearms safety instruction.

The SWF will make arrangements to pick up firearms anywhere across Saskatchewan.

The SWF does not accept handguns or prohibited firearms.

For more information, or to participate in the Guns for Habitat program, please contact us at 306 692 8812 or email sask.wildlife@swf.sk.ca
