Established in 2006, the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society of Saskatchewan is a volunteer based, registered charitable organization committed to keeping Saskatchewan’s wildlife wild. RC#899049399RR0001.
WRSOS maintains a province wide hotline – 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. It is here that people can call for help or information regarding wildlife issues. A dramatic increase in calls from 177 in our first year to well over 3000 in 2018 demonstrates a real need for our organization and the services we provide.
Through our hotline and with the help of many volunteers across the province, WRSOS coordinates rescues, transportation, arranges veterinarian care and rehabilitation and release support. We work in partnership with organizations and businesses across the province that share the view that people and wildlife can successfully coexist.
The event’s goal is to raise awareness and knowledge about wildlife preservation, protection and rehabilitation in Saskatchewan and Canada. There will be live wildlife, exhibits (booths), fun and informative lectures, interactive displays, and a silent auction fundraiser for WRSOS. There will also be games and activities for children such as face painting, owl pellet dissections, science experiments, suet making, juggling school and more.
