Wascana & Upper Qu’Appelle Watersheds Association Taking Responsibility (WUQWATR) is a non-for-profit located in Regina, SK. WUQWATR serves 23,443 square kms of watershed in Upper Qu’Appelle and Wascana for over 10 years. This spring, we’re aiming to educate and share information with our stakeholders on what WUQWATR can do for our community, and how the community can keep the watersheds healthy and sustainable.
Within the media lately there has been a huge media frenzy around TrashTag Challenges, taking place all around the world. Volunteers go to different locations and gather waste that has been improperly disposed of. Typically, pictures are taken before and after to show how much waste was collected at the site.
We are looking for volunteers to help us with the event being held on May 25, 2019 from 1:00-3:00pm at the Wascana Rowing Club. There will be a raffle draw at the event for participating volunteers. Prizes and donations provided by: Sasktel, SaskEnergy, SGI, Regina Pats, Greenlight Garage Doors, SaskWater, and Co-op Sherwood. One bag of waste collected = one entry into the draw.
If you are interested in volunteering, please call/email Courtney at 306-529-3210 or courtney@wuqwatr.ca.
